No matter what your role is in caring for people with memory loss, a disability, or someone with special needs, Spectrum Life Care Services has a wide range of training opportunities through Spectrum University. Please take a look at our current training offerings to find out more and how to register.
Spectrum Life Care Services developed Spectrum University as a curriculum based training program for professional and unpaid caregivers. Instead of the traditional model, where you are not quite sure what type of training you need, or maybe you are a brand new caregiver for a loved one and are not sure where to start, or maybe you are needing a better understanding of a specific disease process, Spectrum University has taken a different approach.
Imagine Spectrum University as an actual university. No matter what your major is, you have a set of core, or pre-requisite classes you need to take, and then you build on courses that are tailored to your major where you eventually earn a degree. Spectrum University is designed to help individuals gain a firm understanding of the basics, and then build from there.
Let's use an example of someone who is a freshman and is looking to earn a degree in engineering. You have the core classes required by the university - English 101, Intro to Engineering 101, Physics 101, and so on. Then you gradually move to the 102 track, then the 302, then the 400, and then some opt to go for their post-graduate degree to enhance their education. Spectrum University is build just like this.
